   Featherstone Lions ARLFC are delighted to welcome Josh Hardcastle back to the club ahead of the 2026 season.

Josh is no stranger to the Lions, having originally progressed from Featherstone Lions before embarking on an impressive nine-year spell with hometown club Featherstone Rovers. During that time, he became a firm fan favourite in the town, known for his physical presence, work rate and versatility.

A powerful and adaptable player, Josh has featured not only in the centres but also on the wing and in the back row. He began his professional career with the Rovers in 2017, signing from Featherstone Lions and making an immediate impact by scoring 15 tries in his debut season, quickly establishing himself as a key member of the squad.

Among his many highlights at the Rovers, Josh was part of the side that reached the Betfred Championship Final in 2021, lifted the 1895 Cup in the same year, and reached the 1895 Cup Final again in 2025. His consistency and commitment over nearly a decade at the club underline just how highly regarded he has been throughout his professional career.

We are thrilled to see Josh return to the Lions and are excited about the experience, leadership and quality he will bring back to the club as we continue to build for the future.
